Outsource QA To Know Why Problem Report Is Submitted To Project Manager
The problem report is passed to the project manager
When organizations outsource qa demands of theirs they manage to achieve a number of intended goals:
- testing and quality assurance work is done by independent highly experienced staff;
- a variety of vital resources become accessible;
- world-class consulting services are available;
- costs of the development process are reduced….
After entering a report into the database, its copy should be submitted to the project manager.
As a rule, the manager prioritizes problems and sends reports to programmers. However, there may be the following variants:
- In most cases, the project manager assesses the importance of the problem, adds his own comments and sends a report to the programmer. The lowest priority reports are not considered by the programmer until the more crucial program errors are corrected. In some companies, programmers still look through such low-priority reports to correct errors described in them while correcting more important errors in the same part of the code. Typically, if the programmers can establish that the errors are present in the same piece of code, it will be much easier and faster for them to correct them all at once. However, the companies, which use this work technique, usually rely that testers or programmers will classify the reports correctly, but this assumption might not be justified in some cases.
You probably know that top testing companies are capable of solving any testing task and the test execution results will be the most accurate, don’t you??
- The project manager may try to reproduce the problem on their own. If that fails, he returns the report to a tester for revision.
- The project manager may return the report to a tester for revision without having to attempt to reproduce the problem. For example, he may ask for more information – system configuration data, additional explanations or test files. A good issue tracker allows the project manager and programmer to write down all your questions in the individual fields of the report, and the tester – add the answers to this same report. Thus, all information relating to finding a solution to a particular problem, is stored in one place. Test files usually cannot be included directly in the database, but there is nothing to stop you to include references to these files in the report.
How often do you resort to QA outsourcing?? If you have sent your work to overseas specialists for testing even once you know that it is a cost-effective way to ensure quality of manufactured software.
