Preparation for Assessment of Testing Costs
The sequence of steps that should be taken when performing tests is given below. This procedure, which is a type of the Wideband Delphi Estimation Process, should take place in the early stages of the planning process. This will ensure that you have enough time to perform each action.
Preparation. Prepare the input forms for collecting and documenting the estimates. Prepare a brief explanatory material to help the test runners understand how to do a certain piece of work and what to expect from these efforts.
Introductory meeting. Call an introductory meeting to discuss the test process and assign new responsibilities and duties to the members of the product teams so that they can understand these responsibilities and, if necessary, explain these to them during working sessions. Upon leaving this meeting, the members of all the groups involved in a project should have at their disposal the lists of items to be assessed, and understand how the appraisal process is being carried out. Think carefully before you skip this step – it places duty -holders on an equal footing and prevents errors due to an unclear understanding of the process itself or the items being evaluated. Application testing services are provided to correct behavior of digital products when they start developing glitches.
Work from home. The duty-holders make individual evaluations. Give the participants enough time to get acquainted with the new features implemented in a next version of the software product.
At the same time, it is highly undesirable for one of the test runners to think about a certain matter for longer than others and not be able to exchange data with others. Make sure that the members of all the groups involved in the project understand that they estimate the number of hours (or days) required to solve a given task, provided that the resources for this task are already available. In addition, ascertain that the participants know how to use the units of measure (man-hours, man-days).
Working meeting. Call a working meeting to review and revise estimates obtained. A chairperson of the meeting collects the assessments and records them in a special consolidated evaluation form. The consolidated assessments are returned to the testing team for discussion and revision. This group discusses the assessments, with each member of the group having their own opinion about this topic, after which the revised assessment is returned to the chairman of the meeting.
