Independent Software Testing Companies: How To Correctly Fill In Report Fields
The report is submitted by the employee
Be sure to include your name in the problem report. If a programmer has any questions he needs to know who to turn to. And anonymous reports are often ignored completely.
Independent software testing companies offer a diverse pack of competitively-priced, high quality software testing and qa services to identify and prevent defects throughout the design & development of applications and business systems.
Date
This field should contain the date and, in some cases, time when problems were identified. This is not the date when a tester wrote the report and not the date when this report was entered into the computer. Since programmers do not always change the version number of software after it underwent next changes (sometimes they simply forget to change the number), the date specified in the report will help you to identify the version of the program which it relates to.
Note. The following report fields are to be filled in only by the development team. Freelance report writers, such as beta testers and simply users do not need to fill in them.
Functional area
This field indicates to which category an identified problem belongs to. A complete list of such fields should be uniform so that all the reports can have the same names for the functional areas. Furthermore, there must not be too many of them, and, moreover, they must be very well defined. As a rule, it is enough to have ten functional areas as this amount is considered to be optimal.
It is obvious that top testing companies are among the best testing service providers therefore number of their clients is unlimited. So you are welcome to deal with these internationally recognized organizations and you are sure to achieve a success.
Assigned
This field should indicate who of the employees is responsible for the fix. This task is usually assigned to the staff member by the project manager, who gives the report to a certain programmer. A tester or even the Test Team Leader does not naturally decide who exactly should make the corrections.
Comments
If error tracking and error correction are not automated and stated on paper only, this field is used by a programmer. This specialist may briefly write why the report is postponed or how the problem is solved.
In multi-user issue tracking systems, this field is used much more efficiently. First of all, this field may be of any length, and anyone who has access to the report, may write their own comments in it.
It is recommended to resort to QA outsourcing service when you lack time, money and effort to carry out testing activities in the best way possible!
