This incident is associated with the performance evaluation of a testing consultant in a certain company. Sometime later, about a month or so in the department it was necessary to pass the threshold of performance appraisal. The problem arose during tete-a-tete meeting, when this employee and the lead started talking about the grade. This female worker told that she was dissatisfied with her appointment, that the expectations were not known to her and that she did not take part in creation of her credit / target card. Also, she added, that the grading criteria were corporate-wide rather than personal. Moreover, she wanted the lead to pass supervision exams as well as to explain what type of performance management training courses he had attended for the moment. She continued manifesting her dissatisfaction about current state of things, at the same time nursing the hope that software testing companies were unlikely to hire low-qualified specialists.
The reason for her anger is that she was not well aware of the current performance measurement system and many attempts were made to convince her on fairness and effectiveness of the current system. This woman came from another country that is why a lot of local issues annoyed her. The staff just need to be patient with the “foreigners” and bend every effort so that they can blend into the team.
